Missionary Donations

Greetings to all of you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

In early 2008, two denominations from the Philippines were accepted into the Antiochian Archdiocese, one belonging to the Catholic Patriarchate of the East and the other Evangelical.

The Archdiocese will take care of the education, training and ordination of all the thirty plus religious leaders and their followers.  It is a historic moments in the history of the Patriarchate of Antioch and the Archdiocese of Australia and New Zealand

Your Archdiocese has been chosen by the Holy Spirit for this heavy task.
Are we going to say “Lord I am here, use me?”.

All of the faithful of our churches are called to pray to the Holy Spirit to inspire and lead them to be His instrument in this endeavour.

All of our members are invited to help financially, through their local churches, the poor and needy of their brothers and sisters in the new land.  God is providing us with an opportunity to help the ones whom He loved, let us listen to His voice and get the Grace of the Holy Spirit.

Manila Vicariate, The Philippines: Appeal for Churches, Schools and a Monastery

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

By the Grace of God Almighty, we are pleased to inform you of our projects to establish monasteries, schools and churches in identified areas here in the Philippines, particularly in Tacloban City (Layte), Calbayog City (Samar), the City of San Jose del Monte (Bulacan), Montalban, Rizal, Caloocan City and Antipolo City.

Initially, we will be needing the amount of Php 999,500.00 (US$22,211.111) and, for a year or two, the amount of Php 7,880,000.00 (US$175,111.11), although we project that the main monastery, to be built in a five hectare (5ha) land in Antipolo City, will cost us approximately Php 40 Million (US$888,888.89) on top of the other sites.

Through these, we can have venues for free education for the poor, for religious institutions, priestly formation, spiritual nourishment and, most of all, a decent place to celebrate the Divine Liturgy.

We are new in the Philippines and are poor.  We need your help and pledges.  If 1,086,211 Christian faithful would contribute a single dollar (US) for these concerns, we could doubtless build these institutions, with God's blessing.

We will issue BIR Official Receipts (ORs) for tax deductibility purposes for every donation or assistance you will extend to us.

Support for the Antiochian Orthodox Davao Vicariate - Philippine Missions

“For Macedonia and Achaia were pleased to make a contribution the poor among the saints in Jerusalem. They were pleased to do it, and indeed they owe it to them. For if the Gentiles have shared in the Jews’ spiritual blessings, they owe it to the Jews to share their material blessings.”

Romans 15: 26-27

The greatness of the modern Church stands on the fact upon the rich energy and love that was practiced by the early Orthodox Faithful. Theirs was a spontaneous response of heart, reaching and touching the lives to make the entire body of Christ complete, established, and emancipated from poverty. Thus, contribution was Orthodoxy exemplified.

Today, Orthodox communities are place is the same call with bigger challenges – Philippine Missions. The Mission of the Faith is encouraged with miraculous results of conversion and service. This positive challenge has to be helped through contribution. Contribution establishes Mission Churches like the Philippines, to graduate from its infancy and apparently stand on their own and consequently help others as well.

The Davao Vicariate prophetically calls you to be a Contributor. For Contributors create change. And these changes, comes from God!

The Antiochian Orthodox Davao Vicariate has several strategies and programmatic work that are geared to make themselves self-sustaining in three (3) years:

1.            Mission Dollar Fund
The “Mission Dollar Fund” is a call for all Orthodox Faithful, to share one dollar ($1.00) each week, to the Mission box after the Divine Liturgy/Service. This also invites all Parish Priest and the Orthodox Youth to facilitate the invitation. This converts all Orthodox people to become Missionary Orthodox Communities through a dollar donation.

This practical affordable scheme shall be managed by the Diocese and be sent to the Davao Vicariate primarily to extend:

-   Microfinance for Women
-   Youth Development and Scholarships
-   Children Outreach
-   Socio-Economic Community Development Programs

2.            Church Building Partnership
The Sanctuary is a sacred place for all Orthodox Faithful. It is where we experience God through his Holy Spirit during the Divine Liturgy. A well built and designed Sanctuary is a testimony of His truth, grace and love.

The Church Building Partnership invites an Australian, New Zealand or an American Based Local Parish to take on either the purchase of the Lot property or the construction of the building.

Today, Davao Vicariate has identified several Parishes and ministries that are ready to work on these strategies:

-   Mt. Gerazim Antiochian Orthodox Church - A former Baptist Protestant Congregation, now serving and living as Antiochian orthodox in Malabon City, Manila. Malabon City is the bulwark of the Methodist Group who joined under Bishop Jeptah.

Today, it stands as the Manila extension of the Vicariate and oversees 6 Parishes. Mt. Gerazim seeks for a Partner to purchase a 350 square meter property in Malabon City where she will build her Sanctuary, School and Youth Development Center.

Mt. Gerazim has a 5-year program, raising monies for the building and her facilities. They have found a property amounting to $80,000 Australian.

-   Christ Church, Calinan Davao City - is nestled in the agricultural center of Davao City. It caters to two villages, where the Priest/Pastor does prayer meeting and services from house to house. They have found a property that would cost them $5000 Australian.

Christ Church, shall put up monies to build their Sanctuary through their contributions and offerings. While the partner is asked to help them purchase the $5000 property.

-   Community of the Cross, Malagamot Davao City, serves to 4 Urban Poor villages in Panacan District. It serves as the most dynamic Orthodox community, involving themselves in Mission and evangelism.

They desire for a partner to buy a property for them costing around $40,000 Australian. The Parish shall take care of the Sanctuary under a 5-year development plan. They also plan to house the Antiochian Orthodox Mission Institute and Seminary.

All Contributors are encouraged to coordinate with their respective Priest or ask the Office of the Archbishop and Fr. Aziz for your donations. Or you can write a check and send it to:
